Saracens trio Nick Tompkins, Aaron Morris and George Perkins helped England's Under-20s qualify for the semi-finals of the World Rugby Championship, despite losing 30-18 to France.
England went 17-3 down after just 23 minutes and never managed to recover from the deficit.
After falling 3-0 behind early on, Sarries wing Perkins prevented another set-back with a brilliant last-ditch tackle as Thomas Ramos sprinted for the line.
Morris was also involved in some sturdy defensive work, but England could not hold off the strong French for long as they took the win.
The loss meant that England finished second in their pool and face South Africa, who won theirs, next.
