A “very frail” woman who was fighting cancer died after two falls at her home, an inquest heard today.
Avril Gillian Solomans, of Whitehouse Avenue, Borehamwood, died at Barnet Hospital on May 23 after suffering a severe head injury.
The 66-year-old was returning from her first session of chemotherapy when she fell outside her home, hitting her head.
Paramedics were called and she was treated at the Princess Grace Hospital in London, before returning home.
She then fell again, reopening the wound from the previous fall.
Mrs Solomans was taken to Barnet Hospital, where a scan showed a blood clot on her brain.
Her son Darren Solomans stayed at the hospital with his mother until 12:30am on May 23, but she died later that morning.
Coroner Edward Thomas concluded the death was accidental and Mrs Solomans died as a result of the clot and cancer.
