The high street came to a standstill last week as film crews recorded scenes for a new BBC comedy.

Nigel Farage Gets His Life Back, starring Porridge actor and comedian Kevin Bishop, will “explore the life Nigel Farage declared he wanted 'back' in his resignation speech immediately after the UK, urged on by his campaign, voted to leave the EU”.

The principle scenes were shot outside the Queen's Head pub, in High Street, Pinner, where landlord Sean White seized the opportunity for a selfie with the moustachioed Bishop.

Mr White said: “The crew said it's constantly being rewritten, which is understandable due to the drama surrounding the man.”

A spokesman for Ukip responding with: “Yawn… double yawn. These lefty self-congratulatory comedians paid for by the public have been relentlessly attacking Mr Farage for over ten years.

“Why don't they be brave and instead attack someone like the hypocritical Shami Chakrabarti?”

With its telegenic Tudor buildings, Pinner attracts many shoots, with the most recent being the Oscar-winning film The Theory Of Everything.

Endemol Shine's Zeppotron, which is producing the half-hour scripted comedy, has not responded to a request for a quote.
