A man who dragged a woman into a front garden to rape her has been jailed. 

Ricky Otusi, 24, was sentenced today (Nov 3) at Southwark Crown Court on for two counts of rape and one of robbery.

He has been jailed for 10 years. 

Otusi pleaded guilty to the charges at the same court on August 5.

Detectives from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command identified Otusi following an extensive review of CCTV footage.

He was charged on July 7.

A woman in her 20s was walking along Long Lane, when she was attacked in the early hours on Saturday June 11.

Otusi dragged the victim, whom he did not know, into a front garden and told her "say anything and I will stab you."

He struck her several times in the face and raped her.

He then asked the victim for money. She handed him £25 she had in her purse and he ran away.

Detective Inspector Christine Edgar, from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said: "This was an extremely nasty attack which has left the victim very distressed.

"I must commend the victim on her bravery and courage in coming forward and supporting the police investigation.

"I hope today's sentence helps bring the victim some closure and sends a clear message that those who commit this kind of offence will be severely punished."
