A Harrow business is facing potential penalties totalling £120,000 after six immigration offenders were found working at the premises.
Immigration Enforcement officers visited Royal China Restaurant, Station Road, Harrow-on-the-Hill, on Saturday.
The business was served a referral notice in relation to the illegal workers arrested.
The notice warns that a financial penalty of up to £20,000 per illegal worker found will be imposed unless the employer can demonstrate that appropriate right-to-work document checks were carried out, such as seeing a passport or Home Office document confirming permission to work.
Four Malaysian men were arrested, two aged 24 and 33 had no permission to work and two aged 38 and 39 had overstayed their visas. They have all been detained while steps are taken to remove them from the UK.
Two Chinese men aged 19 and 26 who had overstayed their visa were escorted from the premises as they did not have permission to work.
The 26-year-old must now report regularly to Immigration Enforcement while his case is progressed. The 19-year-old has left the UK voluntarily.
