Finchley 15 Enfield Ignatians 24 Powergen London League Four (North West)

Enfield's magnificent run of league form continued as they brushed aside a determined Finchley, despite the loss of key players through injury.

Playing into the wind in the first half, a Finchley scrum on the Enfield five-metre line was driven back and Wes Warren broke into the opposition's half. With good support from Andy Roper on the open side, Tremaine Baker scored.

The visitors should have extended their lead but had a try disallowed and were left to rue a mistake which let in Finchley prop Mark Peplow to score against the run of play. Enfield's forwards continued to dominate in the scrum and line-out and deservedly scored a push over try by Richard Peach just before half time which was converted by Wilkinson just before the break.

The Summers Lane side hit back after the interval when a long kick into the corner resulted in a line-out and Hughton Campbell was on hand to bundle over the line for a converted try.

Enfield then took control of the game with Andy Kennedy and Wes Warren breaking tackles enabling Enfield to get in behind the Finchley defence. Eventually Enfield got their reward with Neil Gammon going over.

Ignatians continued to pressure the Finchley line and had a further two tries disallowed before Paul Winship drove over from close range.

Enfield visit Haringey on Saturday.
